I hope you enjoy your Holdiday party with "your" friends. As for the rest of us hardworking officers, we will patrol our city and continue to reduce crime and put up with the City's efforts to not pay us overtime that was so badly needed this year to pay for things like a nice x-mas gift, and pay off my property taxes that I can hardly afford. I worked almost 16 years on this department and got somewhat denied the chance to promote as SGT due to budget cuts. Yet recruits keep coming in, and the brass gets replaced. Why? Anyhow, I can't wait until we get a new Mayor and have LBPD COP re apply when the opportunity comes up, seriously, that man cared, I met him twice and he was genuine and he trully listened. He loved his LAPD family.

I've been waiting for promotion myself, but those of you on this list that are crying about dying on promotion lists, stop embarrassing yourselves in public.

Want to cry and moan about not being promoted, then do it by e-mailing the mayor and the city council directly. They control the financial spigot of the city, not the chief.

Let's stick to using this forum for constructive solutions and discussion about crime problems within the community.

Congrats, Chief, and thanks for being out there amongst the troops in all capacities! That's a sign of terrific leadership!
