• Police Commission President Richard Drooyan said he was delighted to have Commissioner Andrea Ordin back on the Board. He said they go way back as colleagues and he is looking forward to working with her again.
• Police Commissioner Vice President John Mack said it was great to have Commissioner Ordin back and added it is a privilege to work with her a as a colleague.
• Police Commissioner Andrea Ordin said it was great to be back and she had her happiest moments as a professional working on the Board.
• Police Chief Charlie Beck welcomed Commissioner Andrea Ordin back to the Board and said she had an unparalleled commitment which was a statement to her dedication. He went on to thank the entire Board for their tremendous level of commitment.
• The Department’s report, dated July 2, 2012, relative to the professional services agreement with Celplan Technologies, Inc. for the LAPD wireless camera surveillance system – West Valley and Topanga Areas, was approved.
• The Department’s report, dated June 21, 2012, relative to the transmittal of the additional grant award acceptance for the 2010 port security grant program, was approved and transmitted to the Mayor and City Council.
• The Department’s report, dated June 27, 2012, relative to the approval of request for proposals for court reporter services, was approved.
• The Department’s report, dated June 14, 2012, relative to the purchasing vehicle part(s) from official police garages – established, was approved.
• The Department’s report, dated June 26, 2012, relative to the request for payment of reward offer on City Council file no. 090010S49, was approved and transmitted to the City Council.
• The Department’s report, dated June 26, 2012, relative to the destruction of obsolete duplicate records for Hollywood and Rampart Areas, was approved and transmitted to the City Clerk, Records Management Officer.
• The Inspector General’s report, dated June 22, 2012, relative to the review of Department’s vehicle pursuit management inspection, as given by Inspector General Alexander Bustamante, was approved. Mr. Bustamante informed the Board his review determined policies and procedures were followed and there was a high level of compliance achieved.
• The Inspector General’s report, dated June 27, 2012, relative to the quarterly Use of Force report for the first quarter of 2012, as given by Inspector General Alexander Bustamante, was approved. Mr. Bustamante informed the Board he did not state or ever imply the Department misled his office in any way when presenting information for the report. He said the Department was very helpful and the data which it did supply was constructive to obtaining conclusions. President Drooyan then said he was very pleased with the report and with the work of the Inspector General. He also commended the Department for working with the Inspector General to identify issues. President Drooyan did not believe there was anything misleading in the report from the Department but said the numbers needed to be further scrutinized in order to try to understand the reasoning behind the increase in officer involved shootings. He requested the Inspector General return next week to provide the Board with a timeline of when they could begin to create a new format to document assaults on Police Officers so that the numbers can be analyzed differently than those provided by the Department to the United States Department of Justice.

On the 5:00 news it was stated "If you're homeless seek shelter at night" How can they hear such a statement if they are homeless?
