Kudos to Sgt Gonzales, and to all the officers involved in this situation. They acted in the professional manner I've found to be in the great majority of the LAPD personnel I've known and worked with. It is heartbreaking that a parent could treat a child in this manner. I hope and pray that Mitch and his two sisters will receive proper treatment to eventually get a happy and successful life. I wish them luck.

After reading this heartbreaking story, I'm too emotional to eloquently explain why I'm compelled to post, but if there's one message I'd like to get across, it's this: Sergeant Gonzales is a hero.

i hope georgia does what it needs to in order to protect these children and keep the brave young man safe from retribution by these obviously damaged individuals...
