• Police Commission Vice President John Mack said he attended the Black History Month luncheon held by the Association of Black Law Enforcement Executives. He said City Councilman Bernard Parks spoke on the history of blacks in the LAPD, which he found enlightening.
• Police Chief Charlie Beck said he attended the funeral services for Sergeant II Joseph Bilodeau which were held last week. He said there was a nice turnout of fellow officers who paid their final respects. Chief Beck completed his comments by saying there are 9,998 sworn officers and 2,863 civilian employees on the Department.
• The Department’s report, dated January 16, 2013, relative to the request for authority to destroy obsolete duplicate records – for Mission and Wilshire Areas, was approved and transmitted to the City Clerk, Records Management Officer.
