A 26-year-old female resident of Los Angeles parked her 2009 BMW 328i southbound on Vine Street along the curb at Banner Avenue. She opened the driver’s door of the vehicle to get out. The collision caused the bicyclist to be thrown from the bicycle and land in the roadway.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the bicyclist to a local hospital. On March 8, 2013, he died as a result of his injuries at the hospital.
