|Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division (CTD) detectives are investigating an incident in which a man driving a motorcycle was seriously injured while participating in an apparent street race.
Last night around 11:35 p.m., a motorcyclist and vehicle were seen traveling over 60 mph on Sunset Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue. The two vehicles were headed eastbound on Sunset Boulevard when the motorcyclist lost control, ran off the roadway and hit a wall at Los Angeles Fire Department Station #20, 2144 West Sunset Boulevard. LAFD paramedics immediately took the motorcycle driver with severe head injuries to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Following the collision, the driver of the other vehicle, which is possibly a white Mitsubishi Lancer, continued heading eastbound on Sunset Boulevard.
The motorcycle driver, who was not carrying any identification, is a Hispanic male approximately 20 years old. He has not yet been identified.
