Commissioner President Matthew M. Johnson opened the meeting and a quorum was established. All Consent Agenda and Regular Agenda items were unanimously approved.
Chief Beck provided overview of officer involved shootings (OIS) that occurred in the past week. There are 12 OIS to date. This past weekend the city went without a homicide which is a welcomed occurrence. Burglary from motor vehicles has seen the most increase. Chief Beck reminds the public to put valuables out of sight when you park your vehicle. Chief Beck reported there are 9,970 sworn personnel. He expects to move past the 10,000 mark before June. There are 479 civilian vacancies. 2,839 civilian employees, more than 400 reserve officers, and 8,411 police cadets.
