It's amazing how the officers of this city continue to work thanklessly. Crime continues to decrease, yet we never hear praise of the officers. Criminals continue to attack officers and all we hear is, "POLICE BRUTALITY!" when these Susps righteously gets hurt when fighting with the police.

The Department wants to give new recruits a signing bonus...how about anything for the cops working now? I'm not even talking about money...a little support would be nice. BS complaints, B/O equipment, too many people in IA instead of on the streets. I can't believe the citizens of this city put up with the minimal amount of police on the streets. The citizens are getting cheated and all the cops working are put in greater danger with the lack of backup out there.

But even with all the negativity out there, the cops will still continue to work hard and without thanks for the citizens of this city. The city can't get enough cops to sign up, they should also start looking to retain their current cops so they don't leave to work for other agencies who offer more money and better benefits.

I'm trying to get some information about an incident that was posted here last year and about which you both commented extensively. I'm a free-lance journalist, workig on a story that the LAT has refused to cover.
