Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) South Traffic Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a driver who fatally struck a woman as she crossed a street in South Los Angeles.

On Friday, January 21, 2011, at about 10:35 p.m., 18-year-old, Sharniece Jeter, a resident of the City of Victorville, was crossing the street westbound on 66th Street with her female friend when she was struck by a possible Ford F-150 or F-250 pickup truck, beige or champagne in color with an extended cab, and tinted windows. The vehicle was traveling in a northerly direction on Figueroa.

The driver of the Ford described as a male Hispanic with a large beard immediately left the scene without rendering aid or identifying himself as required by law.
