LAPD is Looking for Answers in a Silver Lake Homicide

Los Angeles: LAPD Northeast Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information about the murder of a man in the Silver Lake community of Los Angeles.

On August 7, 2011, at around 5:08 a.m., LAPD Northeast Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the intersection of Silver Lake Boulevard and Scott Place. When the officers arrived they found a man seated in a car suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. Paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the man to the University of Southern California Medical Center where the victim, identified as 20-year-old Juan David Vasquez Loma, was declared brain dead and placed on life support. On August 14, 2011, Loma succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The motive and the description of the suspect(s) are unknown.
