Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Cristian Aldair Lainez, a resident of the city of Reseda.
On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 4:05 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department West Valley Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an "Assault with A Deadly Weapon Shooting," at the 6700 block of Reseda Boulevard in the city of Reseda.
When the officers arrived at scene, they found Mr. Lainez seated in a vehicle in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. Mr. Lainez was unconscious and not breathing. Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded and performed emergency medical treatment. Mr. Lainez was transported to a local area hospital where he died from his injuries.
Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives were notified and responded to the scene. The investigation revealed that Mr. Lainez was seated in his vehicle after exiting a local restaurant when a vehicle pulled up behind him. The suspect exited the vehicle and walked up to the victim's vehicle and shot him. The suspect returned to his vehicle and fled the area.
This homicide does not appear to be random, based on detective's preliminary investigation.
The suspect's vehicle information is not being released at this time pending further investigation by homicide detectives. The suspect(s) are currently outstanding.
