Friday, January 19, 2018 – On the athletic field at the Los Angeles Police Academy in Elysian Park, the newest members of the Department proudly stood at attention as they were presented with their diploma of graduation. Thirty six officers underwent six months of intense physical and mental training which culminated with today’s ceremony in front of Department brass, dignitaries and their family and friends. The graduates were hosted by Mayor Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, and members of the Police Commission at the traditional Elysian Park.
