Pico Union: On Wednesday, January 10, 2018, around 3:14 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to a radio call of a fight in the 1700 block of South New Hampshire Avenue. Before the officers arrived, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) received a call to the same location for a structure fire. When the LAFD arrived they found heavy flames burning on the second floor of a two-story, multi-unit residence. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The LAFD determined the fire to be suspicious and LAPD West Bureau Homicide investigators responded to the scene to investigate the death.
