Robbery of Exotic Bird Caught on Video

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Area are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a robbery suspect and identifying potential additional victims.

On Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., a robbery occurred at a pet store in the 14000 block of Burbank Blvd in Van Nuys.

The suspect entered the pet store pretending to be a customer. The suspect left the store and came back a few minutes later for a third time. The suspect grabbed the bird and tried to run out of the store. The cashier quickly grabbed a stick and chased the suspect until he was able to retrieve the exotic bird.

The suspect fled and is still outstanding. The suspect has not been identified. He is a male Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes. He stands 6 feet tall and weighs around 200 pounds. He was wearing a black and white shirt, a black hat, brown pants, and brown shoes.
