Department Store Burglary Suspects NR19031ma

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Commercial Crimes Division, Burglary Special Section detectives are seeking the public's assistance in apprehending a burglary suspect who was identified in a burglary at a department store in Topanga Division.

On July 6, 2018, around 1:45a.m., two suspects, who concealed their identity with hoodies, gained entry into a large department store via the roof hatch door. After prying open the locked door, both suspects walked down a flight of stairs and activated internal motion detection sensor alarms.

Security surveillance video shows the suspects walk to the Fine Jewelry Department. The suspects used a crow bar and sledge hammer, combined with sheer physical force, to smash open the glass displays. They removed the jewelry from a total of six glass displays, totalling approximately $700,000.00.

At various junctures during the burglary, both suspects were seen on surveillance camera repeatedly kicking the tempered glass in order to gain access to the jewelry inside.
