High Speed Vehicle Hits and Kills Motorcyclist

North Hollywood: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a traffic collision that resulted in one fatality.

On June 6, 2019, around 5:25 a.m., a 2004, red, Audi A4 was traveling southbound Vineland Avenue at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a motorcycle stopped southbound Vineland Avenue and Vanowen Street waiting at the red light. The force of the collision caused the motorcyclist to be ejected in a southwest direction and collide with the roadway. The red Audi continued southbound Vineland Avenue and collided with several parked vehicles along the west curb causing one of the parked vehicles to overturn before the Audi came to rest and caught on fire. The Audi driver walked away from the scene and was followed by citizens where she was subsequently detained.

Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the female Audi driver to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. The Audi driver has been identified as Jessica Martinez, 24 years-old, resident of North Hollywood. She was subsequently arrested and booked at Van Nuys Jail for 187(A) PC-Murder.

The motorcyclist died because of the injuries sustained from the collision. He appeared to be a Male, Asian, 20 to 25 years-old. His name will not be released until next-of-kin has been notified.

Drivers are reminded that they must obey the rules of the road. Never drive under the influence of alcohol or any drug. Driving under the influence, reckless driving carries serious consequences and will not be tolerated in the City of Los Angeles

When will Los Angeles motorists learn to stop operating vehicles in the wee hours of the morning or late at night (or any time for that matter) under the influence of drugs or alcohol? And stop texting and listening to music on headphones while driving?

For years as a pedestrian, I use extreme caution every time I leave my house. I don't trust NONE of these motorists in LA.

This Jessica Martinez chick (I hope she gets convicted) decided to be selfish one early Thursday morning in June 2019, and her selfishness ended up getting a VERY young man killed. Everything this deceased man was and is aint nothing but a memory now. I bet his family has been crying buckets for the past five days.

Shame on you Jessica Martinez and I hope the time you spend in jail hurts you to the core.
