Stabbing on the Metro Expo Line

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Transit Services Division are asking for the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in stabbing a man.

On July 8, 2019, around 5:20 p.m., two people (victim and witness) were riding east on the Metro Expo line train. As the train came to a stop at the La Cienega/Jefferson Station, a male suspect approached the victim and stabbed him once in the chest before fleeing the train. The attack was unprovoked and occurred without warning. Both the victim and witness continued east to the Expo/La Brea Station where they met with police.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening laceration to his chest.

The suspect is described as a male Black, approximately 50-years-old, wearing all black clothing.
