Detectives Seeking Public’s Help in Identifying Murder Suspects NR19315ti

Van Nuys: The Los Angeles Police Department's Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for the murder of 21-year-old man and attempt murder of a second 21-year-old man.

On Thursday, December 6, 2018, around 9:40 p.m., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to a radio call of a "Shooting Just Occurred with a Man Down" near the 7300 block of Vista Del Monte. Upon arrival, officers located Victim Osvaldo Hernandez lying in the courtyard of a residential apartment complex receiving CPR from civilian good Samaritans.

Matthew Sanchez, a second victim, was also located in the courtyard by responding officers. Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot injuries. Both victims were transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. Sadly, Victim Hernandez was pronounced dead a short time later. Victim Sanchez was admitted in serious condition.

There are two suspects wanted in connection with the investigation. The first suspect is described as a 14 to 17-years-old Hispanic male with a youthful appearance and a round head with no facial hair. He stands between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 7 inches with a small build weighing around 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black beanie and dark colored, "Pro Club" Hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect is described as a 22-year-old Hispanic male. He stands 5 feet 9 inches and weighs around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and is said to have a light mustache.

The Los Angeles City Council has approved a reward of $75,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.
