DUI Fatal Traffic Collision Results in Arrest NR20099ti

Suspect's booking number is 5929856 and his bail was set at $2,000,000.00 dollars. The victim has been identified as Corey James La Barrie and his birthdate is May 10, 1995.

North Hollywood: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division announce the arrest of Daniel Joseph Silva, a 27-year-old driver and resident of Los Angeles for murder.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, around 9:39 p.m., a 2020 McLaren 600LT was traveling eastbound on Huston Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. Driver then ran off the road and collided with a stop sign and a tree on the northeast corner of Huston Street and Carpenter Avenue.

The driver of the McLaren exited the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by citizens who came to render aid. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported both parties involved in the collision to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The passenger, a 25-year-old male was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the passenger is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Drivers are reminded to obey the rules of the road and to drive at a safe speed. Speed kills and reckless driving puts other innocent bystanders in danger as well. If you are involved in a collision, you should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify yourself.
