Oficial Involucrado En Un Tiroteo en la división Topanga NRF010-20jc

Los Ángeles: La sección de investigación de uso de fuerza (FID; Force Investigation Division) del departamento de policía de Los Ángeles (LAPD) está investigando un tiroteo involucrando a un oficial (OIS) que ocurrió el lunes en la madrugada.

El 30 de marzo de 2020, a eso de la 1:25 a.m., oficiales uniformados de la división Topanga acudieron a una llamada de servicio de, "Oficial en su día libre involucrado en un tiroteo" en la cuadra 22000 de la avenida Cass. Al llegar a la escena, los oficiales de la división Topanga se encontraron con el oficial que estaba en su día libre. El oficial en su día libre, que después fue identificado como Oficial de Policía II Jimmy Soliman, No. de serie 39370 asignado a la división West Los Ángeles, dijo que mientras estaba adentro de su casa, oyó ruidos afuera. Cuando miró al exterior por la ventana de su recamara, el observó un vehículo blanco de marca Dodge Charger el cual estaba parado en medio de la calle con las puertas del conductor y pasajero abiertas. Soliman oyó más ruidos viniendo de unos de los lados de su casa que da entrada al jardín trasero. Soliman salió a su jardín delantero y observo a dos sospechosos masculinos. Uno de los sospechosos saco una pistola resultando en un tiroteo involucrando a un oficial. Ambos sospechosos se dieron a la fuga. Soliman no fue lastimado en el incidente. Una búsqueda de los alrededores y en los hospitales locales no reveló victimas con heridas de balas.

La sección FID del LAPD acudió a la escena para entrevistar testigos y recoger evidencia forense.

La investigación completa será repasada por los siguientes niveles del Departamento de Policía de Los Ángeles: El Jefe de la Policía, la junta de comisarios de policía, y la Oficina del Inspector General para determinar la rigurosidad y exactitud de la investigación y si el uso de fuerza mortal cumplió con las pólizas y procedimientos de LAPD. Representantes de la oficina del Fiscal del Condado de Los Ángeles que acudieron al lugar de los hechos también analizarán toda la evidencia recolectada y testimonios para determinar si en nivel de fuerza usado por los oficiales violó algún derecho penal.

Hit and Run Traffic Collision Leaves Woman Severely Injured NR20108rc

Wilshire: The Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the driver involved in a hit and run traffic collision that severely injured a woman.

On May 23, 2020, around 9 p.m., West Traffic officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision that occurred at La Cienega Boulevard and 3rd Street. A vehicle traveling southbound La Cienega Boulevard struck a pedestrian walking westbound in the north crosswalk at this intersection. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid or identify themselves as required by California law. The investigation is still ongoing.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital in serious, but stable condition. Although, she suffered severe injuries, her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The public should be aware that individuals who are involved in a traffic collision must stop at the scene, provide their identification, and render aid. Failing to do so is a Felony and carries the possibility of significant time in prison.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.

Fatal Hit and Run Collision Kills Pedestrian NR20107rc

Pacoima: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the driver involved in a hit and run traffic collision that killed a 54-year-old man.

On May 22, 2020, around 9:30 p.m., an unknown vehicle exited the parking lot of a local grocery store and proceeded to travel southbound through the north/south alley east of Remick Ave, north of Osborne Street when it collided with a pedestrian in the alley. The driver of the vehicle then negotiated a left turn from the alley onto eastbound Osborne St, failing to stop to render aid and provide identification as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The victim is a 54-year-old, male. His name will not be released until next-of-kin has been notified.

The public should be aware that individuals who are involved in a traffic collision must stop at the scene, provide their identification, and render aid. Failing to do so is a Felony and carries the possibility of significant time in prison.

Robin Deanne Melton was last seen on May 17, 2020 at 8:30 a.m., in the 7900 block of Capistrano Avenue in the city of Los Angeles and has not been seen since. She suffers from dementia and has trouble remembering things. She was last seen in her wheelchair that she uses to move about.

Robin Deanne Melton is described as a 59-year-old white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She stands 5 feet 7 inches and weighs 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a green shirt, black pants, and gold shoes.

On May 20, 2020, at 1:25 a.m., Pacific Division patrol officers were flagged down by a citizen reporting a body that washed ashore on Venice Beach near 27th Avenue and Ocean Front Walk. An investigator from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office and the Los Angeles Police Department's West Bureau Homicide responded to investigate. The decedent was identified as Shad Gaspard and next of kin was notified.

 

Los Angeles: The family of Shad Gaspard and the Los Angeles Police Department are requesting the public's assistance in locating him.

Mr. Shad Gaspard was last seen by a Los Angeles County lifeguard on May 17, 2020, around 3:40 p.m., as he swam in the Pacific Ocean approximately 50 yards from Venice Beach in the county of Los Angeles. When last seen by the lifeguard, a wave had crashed over Mr. Shad Gaspard and he was swept out to sea.

Mr. Shad Gaspard is described as a 39-year-old male black with a bald head and brown eyes. He stands 6 feet 6 inches and weighs 270 pounds. He was last seen wearing black and gray shorts and has tattoos on his right shoulder and left chest.

Muriel was last seen on May 16, 2020, around 11:00 a.m., in the 900 block of South Harvard Street, in the City of Los Angeles. She has not been seen since and her family is very concerned.

Muriel is described as a 44-year-old female Hispanic with black hair and black eyes. She stands 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark blue/gray shorts and black shoes. Muriel has epilepsy and has the mental capacity of a 5-year-old.

Officer-Involved Shooting in Southeast Division NRF019-20bm

The officers involved in the incident below have been identified as Police Officer II David Orozco, Serial No. 42770, Police Officer II David Torres, Serial No. 41483, and Police Officer I Brandon Prisk, Serial No. 43869, Southeast Area.

 

**The following information is based on a preliminary and ongoing investigation, which continues to evolve as investigators interview witnesses, review physical and electronic records, and analyze forensic evidence. The Department's understanding of the facts and circumstances may change as additional evidence is collected and analyzed**

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved-Shooting (OIS) that occurred Thursday afternoon.

On May 14, 2020, around 12:43 p.m., Southeast Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of shots fired in the 700 block of W. 123rd Street. The Person Reporting (PR) called on behalf of her neighbor, who stated her son had a gun and was attempting to kill her daughter. Upon arrival, the officers set up containment and made contact with the suspect over the phone. While speaking with the suspect, the officers learned that he was armed with a gun and had fired a round into a door inside the residence. In addition, the suspect was refusing to allow his sister to exit the location.

The suspect eventually exited the location armed with a revolver and an OIS occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire and succumbed to his injuries at scene.

No officers were injured during the incident and a loaded revolver was recovered at the scene.

LAPD's specialized Force Investigation Division (FID) responded to the scene and began interviewing witnesses and collecting forensic evidence. A representative from the Office of the Inspector General and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office also responded and monitored the investigation.

The complete investigation will be reviewed by the Chief of Police and the Board of Police Commissioners and the Office of the Inspector General to determine the thoroughness and accuracy of the investigation and whether the use of deadly force complied with the LAPD's policies and procedures. Additionally, representatives from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office who responded to the scene will review the subsequent FID investigation; evidence collected and witness statements to determine if the force used by the officer(s) violated any criminal laws.

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Traffic Division are investigating a hit and run traffic collision that resulted in the death of a 67-year-old man.

On May 13, 2020, around 3:50 a.m., officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision at the intersection of Main Street and 47th Place. Preliminary investigation determined the driver of a light-colored sedan, traveling northbound on Main Street, struck a pedestrian crossing Main Street in a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was then struck by another unknown type of vehicle traveling southbound on Main Street. Both drivers fled the scene without identifying themselves or rendering aid to the severely injured pedestrian.

Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the male victim dead at scene. His identity has not been released pending notification to next of kin.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

Bank Robbery Suspect Sought NR20103ml

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division, Robbery Special Section, are seeking the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of a bank robbery suspect.

On December 18, 2019, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a bank robbery occurred at the 700 West Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The suspect entered the bank and presented the teller with a note. The teller complied with the suspects demands, who then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a Male, possibly Hispanic, 6'0, 180-200 pounds, and 23-26 years old. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, sweatpants, and a blue surgical mask at the time.
